Purdue University - OWL (Online Writing Lab) MLA Formatting

The Modern Language Association (MLA) is the style most commonly used by schools, colleges and universities to write papers and cite sources.  Purdue University's Online Writing Lab is an excellent source for all things MLA.

CA Community Colleges

The California Community College System is the largest higher education system in the nation.  It is comprised of 72 districts, 110 colleges, and enrolls more than 2.9 million students.  Community Colleges provide the basic skills education, workforce training, and courses that prepare students for transfer to four-year universities.  The colleges also offer opportunities for personal enrichment and lifelong learning.
If you are considering attending a community college, please contact that college's Admissions Office directly for more information about programs, classes, and offerings.
CSU-Dominguez Hills Online Courses 2011-2012 
The YOUNG SCHOLARS PROGRAM allows high school students to enroll in two college courses through distance learning each semester and earn college (and high school credit simultaneously) for only $3.50.  Spring 2010 courses include THE100 (Television, Film, & theatre), CHS100 (Chicano Studies), and two courses To Be Announced. 
This is an excellent opportunity for our students to earn additional credits in a non-traditional way while utilizing 21st Century technological and educational skills.

All student athletes planning on attending a four your college/university should be familiar with this website.
SD County Registrar 
SD County Registrar offers students (age 16 by election day w/ min. 2.5 GPA and parental permission) opportunity to be part of election team during Gubernatorial Primary June 8th and General Election November 2nd. Must be comfortable taking online training, using cell phones to communicate at poll, learning how to set up and close the poll in a hands-on class, and providing positive voting experience on Election Day. 

Students will receive a certificate for 15-19 hours of community service, a stipend of $75-$145, plus additional $15 for bilingual Filipino, Spanish, or Vietnamese speakers. 

Fill out and return application by Friday, March 26, 2010.
